Calcium Phosphate
Product Presentation Calcium Phosphate Adjuvant
The calcium phosphate gel adjuvant was originally developed by professor Edgar H. Relyveld, Institute Pasteur, France, as an alternative to the aluminum-based adjuvants.
This adjuvant has been used in human vaccines against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and poliomyelitis.
Calcium phosphate is well suited for use in human vaccine. This adjuvant is available in an aqueous suspension in 0.9% saline (NaCl).
As calcium phosphate is a natural constituent of the body it is well tolerated in all respects.
In addition to its use in human vaccines it is particularly well suited for use in hyposensitization of allergic patients using adsorbed allergen immunotherapy, where numerous injections are administered over a short time-span
Amongst the advantages by using calcium phosphate are that it contains only components which are known as natural parts of the body, leaving no toxicological problems.
